Non-invasive Medical Procedure

Non-invasive Aesthetic treatments are performed by our in-house Medical Practitioner, Dr Susan Burger.

These treatments are performed in a clinical setting as out-patient procedures.

Botulinum toxin is increasingly being used to treat a variety of aesthetic concerns. Traditionally it has been used to treat facial wrinkles (targeting the muscles of facial expression).

Here the toxin temporarily blocks the communication between muscle and nerve resulting in decreased movement of the targeted muscle (overlying skin appears less wrinkled and has time to smooth out whist the muscle is in a relaxed state).

Botulinum toxin can be used to treat the following aesthetic concerns:

  1. Wrinkles on the face: Brow, forehead, crow’s feet, bar-code wrinkles around the mouth and muscles of the neck
  2. Excessive sweating under the armpits, hands and feet
  3. Improvement of Hair loss on the scalp

Lifting Threads

This non-invasive procedure is performed in the consulting rooms. It aims to restore sagging facial tissues to its proper position. Areas that can be treated successfully include

  1. Mid face and Jowl lifting
  2. Brow lifting
  3. Jaw line improvement
  4. Sagging neck

Dermal fillers are safe, injectable “gel”-like substances which are used to create volume in the face and other areas. It enhances the contours of the cheeks and jaw, improves volume and shape to lips and can also be used to treat fine lines and wrinkles.

Most modern fillers also contain bio-stimulating agents that improve collagen and elastin production in the skin and underlying tissues.

This treatment is aimed at providing nutrition and collagen stimulation to the layers of the skin.

Multiple, superficial injections are used to deliver a bio-stimulating serum into the skin. This serum, together with the small injuries created by the injection, is what causes mesotherapy to be so effective.

What can be treated with Mesotherapy?

  1. Fine lines and wrinkles of the face
  2. Skin rejuvenation of the face, neck and hands
  3. Hyperpigmentation
  4. Hair loss

These injections are specifically formulated to increase blood flow and stimulate the breakdown of fat cells. There are various formulations available.

They are a nonsurgical technique which may help with reduction of diet-resistant fat deposits (fat pockets) in an otherwise slim body.

They NOT INDICATED for people with obesity. These patients should first undergo a weight loss program before Lipolytic injections can be used successfully.

Fat lipolysis is NOT a substitute for exercising and dieting and is not part of any weight loss program. It is not an alternative treatment to liposuction.

The solution can be injected into the body and face including the following areas:

Face: fatty nasolabial bulges, fatty jowls, double chin and fatty jawline

Body: resistant fat on the abdomen, inner thighs, love handles, bra bulges, upper arms, knees, ankles as well as cellulite bulges

This treatment is a pre-mixed cocktail of ingredients injected into the sculp every two weeks for 4 sessions. A series of at least 4 sessions is needed for optimal results.

This stimulates the hair follicles to produce thicker, more voluminous hair and it helps prevent and treat hair loss from a variety of causes. It is important to determine the cause of your specific hair loss before embarking on treatment. Part of responsible hair loss treatment is a thorough medical examination and history.
